Source: Tulsa World, Okla.迷你倉新蒲崗Aug. 02--Tulsa's 911 Call Center made a smooth transition to a new computer-aided dispatch system Wednesday morning, officials said.Former technology manager Terry O'Malley succeeded Scott Clark as interim director of the center on Thursday.O'Malley said the $2 million upgrade to TriTech's Inform CAD software was made overnight Tuesday between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m. but did not affect dispatch operations. The switch was funded by landline and cellular telephone fees."Everything went a lot smoother than I expected it to," O'Malley said Thursday. The existing software had been in use for more than a decade and was outdated, she said. The 911 Call Center received licenses to test Inform CAD in 2009.O'Malley described the new system as more modern and stable. The software tracks responding units,迷你倉出租as well as pending and active calls, and can link public safety agencies to one another.EMSA also uses Inform CAD, which will allow for greater communication and collaboration between EMSA and the Tulsa Police and Fire departments. An added benefit is the ability to use the system for quality control, O'Malley said."It's kind of one of the Cadillacs of CAD systems," she said.O'Malley said she hopes the software will reduce emergency response times in the city.Call takers and dispatchers began training on the new system two months ago.The center also plans to upgrade telephone and radio systems in coming months.Amanda Bland 918-581-8413amanda.bland@tulsaworld.comCopyright: ___ (c)2013 Tulsa World (Tulsa, Okla.)
