Source: The Montana Standard, ButteSept.迷你倉 11--Butte Central head volleyball coach Kaila Minehan has entrusted her program to a starting lineup that consists of players not even old enough to drive.Yet Minehan probably won't have any trouble handing over the keys to this car on most nights in the next few months.Despite dropping their season opener at the Maroon Activities Center Tuesday night against visiting Park High School of Livingston 3-1 (24-26, 26-24, 25-18, 25-19), Minehan saw enough to feel that Central fans could be in store for a fun season."We showed spunk early, but the reason why we didn't win, overall, was unforced errors," Minehan said. "That's going to happen with a young team. We didn't finish on offense. Defensively we are making big strides. Our block is huge and aggressive. Defensively we pick up a lot of balls."Early on Central showed little youth or nerve,s breaking out to an early 6-3 lead.Livingston rallied to take the lead and eventually the teams settled into a seesaw affair.Senior Maroon Sadie Harrington would record a block and a kill on consecutive points and Central led 14-10.Their lead got as big as five before the Rangers rallied to tie things at 15-15 on a Lindzi Printz kill.It would continue back and forth in the first set and the Livingston girls took a 21-20 lead. Then the younger and determined Central team would escape with the 26-24 set win as their size at the net forced the Rangers into costly hitting errors and a 1-0 match deficit.Central's size at the net continued to trouble the Livingston girls as they continued to record hitting errors trying to navigate around Central's tall timber.Once again the Rangers would overcome an early set deficit as the Maroons would make some unforced errors of their own.In fact the first 15 points were riddled with errors with only three decided via terminal as Central would lead 9-6.An Andrea Fairchild kill would give the Rangers a 14-13 lead. Then a duo of hitting errors by Central gave the Rangers a 16-13 edge. The lead would increase to 20-13 as the first series of errors befell the Maroons.Livingston would hold onto that edge and even the match at 1-1 with a 26-24 win despite a late Central rally. When the set ended Central would 儲存倉ave one senior, four sophomores and a freshman on the floor. The match pattern of Central leading early and Livingston rallying held true as the teams were back at it in the third set.For a period of 15 services the Rangers' lead would waiver between one and three points as Central pushed to reclaim the momentum. Then the four-pronged hitting attack for Livingston began to take control and Printz's seventh kill made it 18-13 in the Rangers' favor.Livingston would hold on and win the third set 25-18.It was apparent the Rangers had their rhythm and Printz, Meadow Ingram, Megan Hawkins, and Sierra Higgs began to flex their muscles as they led 10-5 early in the fourth set."They definitely did spread it out and that's because our block is big," Minehan said. "If you don't spread it out we are going to shut you down. We stopped being aggressive offensively and our defense really spurs on our offense and we were on our heels there for a bit. The aggressive play stopped and Park was able to dictate the whole swing of the game."Livingston would take that early momentum and ride it to the fourth set and match win despite another Central rally.Central was led by Harrington's seven-kill, 3.5-block performance while Lacey McGree added five and 2.5 respectively. Shawnee Hjelt added 18 digs and five kills.Livingston was paced by Ingram's 12 kills, Printz's 19 kills, Hawkins' five kills, and Higgs' four kills."I definitely feel that this team has potential," Minehan said. "Offensively we just need to get much better. Defensively I am very happy."Livingston def.
