Source: San Bernardino County Sun, Calif.mini storageSept. 27--SAN BERNARDINO -- Sheriff's deputies shot and wounded a passenger in a car whose driver allegedly led sheriff's deputies on a high-speed car chase through San Bernardino on Thursday evening.The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department did not name the man who was shot, but did identify the driver suspected in the chase.Arthur Herrera, 26, was booked into Central Detention Center in San Bernardino on suspicion of felony evading. He also had numerous arrest warrants, San Bernardino County sheriff's officials said.Sheriff's deputies and San Bernardino police were conducting a crime sweep at 7:43 p.m. when they tried to stopself storagea driver for traffic violations near the corner of Ninth Street and Waterman Avenue.The driver sped away through residential neighborhoods before stopping in the 1100 block of Belvan Avenue.Sheriff's officials said that while they were taking occupants of the vehicle into custody, one began to reach for something in the vehicle.A sheriff's detective, suspecting the item was a gun, shot the man.
