Xiaomi hires top Google executive
Android specialist Hugo Barra’s move toChina will boost smartphone maker’s global growth plans as it tries to compete with rivalsAfter raising US$216 million in its third round of fund-raising in June, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is looking to accelerate its international expansion plans with the hiring of a top executive from Google’s Android division.文件倉Hugo Barra (pictured), who had resigned as vice-president for Android product management at Google, would join Xiaomi as vice-president for international business development and Android strategic partnerships, the Beijing-based company confirmed via Twitter yesterday. Online publication AllThingsD had earlier reported Barra’s exit from Google. In separate posts on Sina’s Weibo microblog yesterday, Xiaomi founder and chief executive Lei Jun said Barra would start work next month, while co-founder and president Li Bin hinted that Barra could join a scheduled product launch next Thursday. On his Google+ page, Barra said yesterday: “In a few weeks, I’ll be joining the Xiaomi team in China to help them expand their incredible product portfolio and business globally … and am particularly excited about the opportu存倉ity to continue to help drive the Android ecosystem.”Recruiting a senior executive from the world’s largest internet company marks another coup for three-year-old, privately held Xiaomi, which put its market capitalisation at US$10 billion after its latest fundraising. Its market capitalisation is on par with that of Hong Kong-listed Lenovo, the world’s biggest personal computer supplier.Sandy Shen, Gartner’s research director for consumer services, said hiring Barra could be likened to the old Chinese saying “the first step in a 100,000-mile march”.“I think Xiaomi has the potential to appeal to Chinese-speaking communities overseas, but to move beyond that will take much longer and need more effort,” Shen said. She added that Xiaomi would be hard-pressed to challenge Samsung Electronics and Apple in the high-end market segment because it “only appeals to price- and fashion-conscious users” on the mainland.Data from market research firm Canalys showed that Xiaomi moved ahead of Apple to become the mainland’s sixth-ranked smartphone supplier last quarter. Samsung, Lenovo, Yulong Computer Telecommunication Scientific, ZTE and Huawei Technologies led the market.迷你倉

The Simple Solution for the Soaring Demand to Speak with a British English Accent
LONDON, August 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Speak Easily's new eBook, How to Lose Your Accent, makes the accent reduction course from London's most successful elocution lessons [.迷你倉出租speak-easily.com ] available to people throughout the world. Speakers of English as a second language can now learn the practical solution to speaking with a Received Pronunciation (RP) accent, (often known as Standard English, or BBC English) where they want, when they want and how they want. The last census showed that over 4.2 million, or 7.7% of the population, in the UK now speak English as a second language. In London that figure is 1.7 million, 22% of the population. There are significant numbers of these people whose English is good or even fluent, but whose accent gets in the way of clear understanding. This can mean frustration for listeners and speakers: most listeners have wasted time deciphering someone whose accent is so strong it's not clear what they've said; and many non-native speakers worry that they aren't clearly understood, in some cases even limiting their career progress or ability to find suitable work. It's no wonder that demand for elocution lessons is soaring. Last year Speak Easily taught 800 people from over 90 different nationalities to speak with a Received Pronunciation (RP) English accent. To meet the growing demand from people who wanted to study on their own and in their own time, they've now adapted their course to produce an accent reduction eBook. The eBook is available to download at .speak-easily.com/ebooks, for only GBP19.95. How to Lose Your 迷你倉ccent also comes with over 9 hours of audio files and a practice book, The Sounds of RP English, for free.Speaking with a more neutral British English accent will help speakers of English as a second language in three main areas:1. Clarity of spoken English - "People keep asking me to repeat myself or sometimes they look blank when I speak, as if they're not really understanding me. I think I've lost work because of it. I just want to be understood"2. Integration - "I've lived in London for 15 years and speak really fluently, but I still have a strong accent and I don't know why. People still ask me where I'm from. I'd like to blend in after being here so long!"3. Creating a good impression - "My accent is strong so people seem to think I'm not as intelligent as I am, or that I can't speak English properly! It's so annoying that my speech gives the wrong impression about myself"Author Morwenna Rowe, who founded Speak Easily [.speak-easily.com ] in 2007, has worked with CEOs, politicians, university professors, judges, actors and top surgeons to help them soften their foreign accent. She said "Our courses have been highly successful, but many people cannot attend classes in London. That's why we've turned our course into an eBook. Now people can change their accent quickly, accurately and simply in the comfort of their own home, for a fraction of the cost of our courses."Speak EasilyCONTACT: To find out more about this eBook, or Speak Easily's existingelocution lessons, please contact:Mark Singleton, mark.singleton@speak-easily.com, +44-203-1741316.儲存倉

Two Agency Decisions Increase Rights and Remedies of Passengers Travelling with Air Canada and Porter
OTTAWA, Aug.迷你倉 29, 2013 /CNW/ - In two separate decisions released today, the Canadian Transportation Agency ordered Air Canada and Porter Airlines to revise certain domestic tariff provisions.A tariff is the contract between the carrier and the passenger which contains an air carrier's terms and conditions of carriage. Tariff provisions are enforceable by the Agency."Passengers have a fundamental right to be informed about schedule changes that affect their itinerary and ability to travel and to be compensated or refunded in a reasonable fashion," said Geoff Hare, Chair and CEO of the Agency. "These decisions help ensure that consumers are protected when experiencing schedule changes while travelling with Air Canada and Porter."In its Decision No 204-C-A-2013 issued in May 2013, the Agency acknowledged that Air Canada should have the flexibility to determine when an aircraft should be substituted for operational and safety reasons. The Agency gave the carrier the opportunity to demonstrate how these conditions could be met in its tariff. As indicated in today's final decision, as Air Canada failed to do so, the Agency determined that the carrier has to provide boarding compensation to affected passengers. The Agency has also concluded that the regime proposed by the complainant is the preferable option to apply as it strikes a reasonable balance between the consumers' interest and Air Canada's commercial obligations.Air Canada now has to revise its denied boarding compensation regime by September 18, 2013, to reflect the following compensation provisions:-- Less than 2 hour delay = 50% of the base amount -- Between 2 and less than 6 hour delay = 100% of the base amount -- 6 hour delay or more = 200% of the base amount -- The base amount is established as $400This compensation applies solely to involuntary denied boarding, and does not relate to situations where a passenger volunteers to be denied boarding for whatever compensation Air Canada wishes to offer. In a separate decision, the Agency dealt with Porte自存倉's responsibility for schedules and operations, as well as the reasonableness and clarity of its domestic tariff. In response to the complaint, Porter proposed certain tariff revisions, which the Agency found still lacked clarity and some were found to be unreasonable. The Agency finds that it is unreasonable for Porter to refuse to refund the fare paid by a passenger because of its cancellation of a flight. The Agency found that, consistent with Decision No. 16-C-A-2013, Porter should make reasonable efforts to provide passengers with accurate information on schedule changes and the reasons for them.Porter now has until September 30, 2013, to revise its tariff provisions for domestic flights as per the findings in the decision.About the Canadian Transportation AgencyThe Agency is responsible for, among other things, resolving complaints related to an air carrier's terms and conditions of carriage set out in its tariff. The Agency has the authority to address the terms and conditions of carriage for domestic traffic on complaint and for international traffic on complaint and its own motion. In these contexts, the Agency has the power to suspend, disallow or substitute the terms and conditions of carriage.Agency complaints are treated on a case-by-case basis. Each decision is based solely on the individual merits of the case. In the course of the process, the Agency assesses relevant facts and circumstances, by way of written submissions, weighs the various factors and makes a decision based on law and evidence presented by the parties involved in the cases.Canadian Transportation AgencyCONTACT: Related Agency decisionsAir CanadaDecision No. 204-C-A-2013 (May 2013)For more information on dispute resolution for air travellers, consultthe Backgrounder: Dispute Resolution for Air Travellers.News Media Enquiries: media@otc-cta.gc.ca or 819-934-3448General Public Enquiries: info@otc-cta.gc.ca or 1-888-222-2592 or TTY1-800-669-5575To keep up-to-date with our latest news releases and other information, subscribe to our electronic mail service.迷你倉新蒲崗

Summer's last hurrah
Source: Pittsburgh Post-GazetteAug.迷你倉出租 29--Labor Day is just around the corner, if you can believe it, and you know what that means: Summer's over. Not officially, maybe -- the autumnal equinox isn't until Sept. 22 -- but it certainly feels like the beginning of fall. Many area kids already are back in school or are soon to be, and on a run through Washington's Landing this past weekend, I saw more than a few dead maples leaves piling up on the edge of the sidewalk.Sigh. Cool days and even cooler nights can't be too far behind, what with backyard barbecues giving way to tailgate parties, and cookies and sandwiches being packed into school lunches instead of picnic baskets.Happily, grocery stores, roadside stands and farmers markets still are flush with fresh veggies in every color of the rainbow. From giant zucchinis to luscious peaches to tart-sweet raspberries to red, green, yellow and orange tomatoes, there's a bounty of flavors yet to be sampled before this year's cycle of sowing and harvesting starts to wrap up.In other words, there's still time to get cracking with a farm-fresh meal.Inside, we offer three great recipes that will let you enjoy one last great taste of summer. They're fresh takes on some of the season's all-time favorites: Corn, tomatoes, zucchini and peaches.Corn Pancakes with Tomato, Bacon and Lemon-Chive CreamPG testedI'm always on the lookout for the next best pancake, and this recipe is a definite contender. Because of the addition of cornmeal, they're a little grainier and not as sweet as a traditional breakfast pancake. But what a great way to put those extra ears of sweet corn to good use.Pair the pancakes with the juiciest, ripest tomatoes you can find. To cut down just a bit on calories, I used bacon turkey. You can reheat any leftover cakes in the toaster.*1/2 cup light sour cream*2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives*1 teaspoon grated lemon rind*2 1/4 ounces all-purpose flour (about 1/2 cup)*1/2 cup yellow cornmeal*1 teaspoon sugar*1/4 teaspoon baking soda*1/4 teaspoon kosher salt*1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper*1 1/4 cups fresh corn kernels (about 3 ears), divided*2/3 cup low-fat buttermilk*2 tablespoons butter, melted*1 large egg*Sliced heirloom tomatoes*6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled (I used bacon turkey)Combine sour cream, chives and lemon rind in a small bowl; chill.Weigh or lightly spoon flour in a dry measuring cup; level with a knife. Combine flour and cornmeal, sugar, baking soda, salt and red pepper in a medium bowl. Place 1 cup corn kernels, buttermilk, butter and egg in a blender; process until coarsely pureed. Add pureed corn mixture to flour mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in 1/4 cup corn.Pour about 2 tablespoons batter per pancake onto a hot nonstick griddle or nonstick skillet; spread gently with a spatula. Cook 3 minutes or until tops are covered with bubbles and edges look cooked. Carefully turn pancakes over; cook 3 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. Arrange 2 pancakes on each of 6 plates; top each pancake with sliced tomato, bacon crumbles and 1 teaspoon lemon-chive cream. Serve immediately. Serves 6.-- Adapted from "Cooking Light Pick Fresh Cookbook" (Oxmoor House, 2013, $21.95)Zucchini ripini(Cheese-stuffed zucchini)PG testedMy favorite way to prepare zucchini usually is to slice it, then throw it on the grill with a little olive oil and kosher salt. This simple celebrate-the-season recipe is nearly as easy, equally tasty and goes just as well with sliced meats, salads and bread. Plus, because it's meant to be dished up at room temperature, you can make it ahead.Serve either as antipasti or as a vegetarian main course.*6 medium zucchini*5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided*1 shallot or small white onion, very finely chopped*2 garlic cloves, finely chopped*1 cup fresh tomato sauce (recipe below)*6 tablespoons dry bread crumbs (I used panko)*1 egg, beaten*3/4 cup finely grated parmesan*1 tablespoon finely chopped flat-leaf parsley*Salt and freshly ground black pepperPreheat oven to 350 degrees.Cut zucchini lengthwise. Remove soft, fleshy center with a spoon and set aside, so that you are left with long canoe shapes. Put these onto a baking sheet and drizzle with 1 tablespoon of the oil. Bake for 10 minutes in the oven. Remove and set asid迷你倉.Meanwhile, chop the zucchini flesh finely. Heat 3 tablespoons of the remaining oil in a frying pan and cook zucchini flesh, the onion and the garlic, stirring constantly, or until softened. Set aside.Spread the tomato sauce over the bottom of an ovenproof dish large enough to hold all the zucchini. Add the bread crumbs, eggs, parmesan and the parsley to the zucchini flesh. Season with salt and pepper and mix together. Stuff the zucchini with the mixture, pushing it down to secure the stuffing inside each hollow. Place the stuffed zucchini on top of the tomato sauce. Season lightly again and drizzle with remaining olive oil. Bake for 20 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.Serves 6 as a starter or 4 as a main course.-- "The Italian Cooking Course" by Katie Caldesi (Kyle, May 2013, $29.95)Fresh Tomato SaucePG tested*2 1/4 pounds fresh, ripe and very red tomatoes*4 sprigs (10 leaves) basil, divided*1 medium red onion, peeled and quartered*5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil*2 garlic cloves, peeled and lightly mashed*Salt and freshly ground black pepper*1 heaping teaspoon sugar (optional)Put tomatoes, 2 sprigs basil and onion in a large heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Cover pan with lid and leave on heat for about 45 minutes, shaking pan frequently, until tomatoes have released their juices and softened. Remove basil leaves.Remove pan from heat and pas sauce through a food mill or sieve, to remove tomato skins and most of the seeds. Alternatively, use a hand blender and puree tomatoes, skins and all (my preferred method).Heat oil in pan and add garlic cloves. After a couple minutes add tomatoes and remaining basil. Adjust seasoning to taste with salt and pepper and, if necessary, the sugar (if tomatoes are sweet, you will not need the sugar). Bring to boil, then lower heat and simmer gently, uncovered, for 30 to 45 minutes, until mixture has reduced and the flavor has become more concentrated.Makes 6 to 8 servings.-- "The Italian Cooking Course" by Katie Caldesi (Kyle, May 2013, $29.95)French Toast with Grilled Peaches and Blueberry SyrupPG testedYes, it's possible to make breakfast on the grill. This easy recipes marries 2 of summer's sweetest tastes -- blueberries and peaches.*1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries*3/4 cup maple syrup*Finely grated zest of 1 lemon*2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted*2 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided*4 firm but ripe peaches, each cut in half*4 large eggs*2/3 cup half-and-half*1 teaspoon vanilla extract*1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon*1/4 teaspoon kosher salt*8 slices day-old challah, each about 3/4 inch thick (I used day-old Mancini's Italian bread)*Unsalted butter for griddlePrepare grill for direct cooking over medium heat.In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine blueberries, syrup and lemon zest and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and keep warm.Combine melted butter and 1 tablespoon sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Brush peach halves all over with 1 tablespoon of the butter mixture. Grill over direct medium heat, with lid closed, until they are browned in spots and warm throughout, 8 to 10 minutes, turning every 3 minutes or so. Transfer to a cutting board. When cool enough to handle, cut into wedges. (I slipped off the skins.)Preheat a grill-proof griddle over direct medium heat for about 10 minutes. In a baking dish whisk the eggs, half-and-half, the remaining 1 tablespoon sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon and salt until thoroughly combined. Working in batches, place bread in egg mixture, soak for 2 minutes, and turn once. Butter the griddle. Using tongs, remove bread from egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip back into the dish. Place bread on the griddle and cook with the lid closed, until golden brown on both sides, 6 to 8 minutes, turning once. Remove from griddle and keep warm. Repeat with remaining bread.Serve the French toast topped with grilled peaches and blueberry syrup. Teen charged with third homicide from same week
Source: The Columbus Dispatch, OhioAug.迷你倉 29--The 17-year-old who led police on a violent weeklong manhunt, leaving three people dead and two others severely injured, has been charged with the fatal shooting that started it all.Devonere Simmonds was charged yesterday in Franklin County Juvenile Court with the murder of Quinten Ellis-John Prater on July 21. Prater and James E. Norvet III were found in front of 771 Lilley Ave. at 1:25 p.m. that Sunday. The next day, Simmonds went to his mother and told her he'd unintentionally shot someone. She called Columbus police. She also told detectives someone else might have been involved and gave the street name "Kane" -- later linked to 18-year-old Nathaniel Brunner.Information from Simmonds' mother will "be used as evidence, I'm sure, and it was very beneficial that she called in and assisted," said Sgt. Steven Little of the police homicide squad. " We started looking for him right away and making every effort to find him."The shooting was no accident, despite what he told his mother, Little said."If it's an accident, he accidentally forgot to call us," he said. "He accidentally forgot to do a lot of things."For now, Simmonds is only charged with Prater's death in that incident, Little said. Detectives believe a second person committed the assault on Norvet, who was critically injured but has since been released from a hospital. That second person is likely Brunner, though he has not yet been cha自存倉ged, Little said. The confession to his mother wasn't enough to charge Simmonds, but DNA on the discarded shotgun used to kill Prater was linked to Simmonds, Little said. Two days after the confession, police said, Simmonds, Brunner and a third man, Darrell Durham, 18, walked into the Convenient Plus Food Mart on E. Livingston Avenue and fatally shot clerk Imran Ashgar about 11 p.m. The three were caught on the store's surveillance camera, and all have been charged in his death.Hours after shooting the clerk, Brunner and Simmonds shot an acquaintance, 17-year-old Lamont Frazier, police said. His body was found that morning on the sidewalk at Oakwood Avenue and Forest Street. Both have been charged in his killing.A bullet pulled from Frazier's body matched the .22-caliber handgun found with Brunner and Simmonds when they were arrested in Dayton on July 27.Little said charges could be filed today against Simmonds for his last act of violence that week -- the carjacking and shooting of William Joseph Rudd at a truck stop in Madison County.Hours after shooting Rudd in the head, Simmonds and Brunner were found asleep in Rudd's Dodge Magnum behind a house in Dayton. All of the incidents will be prosecuted as "a continuing chain of criminal events," Little said.@allymanningCopyright: ___ (c)2013 The Columbus Dispatch (Columbus, Ohio) Visit The Columbus Dispatch (Columbus, Ohio) at .dispatch.com Distributed by MCT Information Services迷你倉新蒲崗

Prep games heading to Web
Source: Mail Tribune, Medford, Ore.迷你倉出租Aug. 29--If you were expecting to hear high school football on KEZX Fox Sports 730-AM or KRTA 610-AM this Friday night, sorry. What you'll hear instead is Fox Sports Tonight on Fox Sports and, in all likelihood, Spanish music on KRTA.Not to worry, though. Joe Brett and the rest of the smooth-as-silk Table Rock Sports Network personalities have you covered. You'll just need to replace that radio with a computer or smart device. Type in tablerocksports.net and you'll soon be buried in local sports coverage that features live and archived audio and video.Best of all, it is free and without downloads.Table Rock Sports is moving exclusively to the Internet this school year. Its radio reach had diminished since it days on the FM airwaves, said Brett, Table Rock Sports co-owner. After successfully experimenting with some live web broadcasts last season, the network decided to fully commit to the newer medium in 2013.The switch makes promoting through social media more relevant and provides potential sponsors with exact viewer usage data, Brett said."This is just an opportunity to expand our reach far beyond our local radio signals," Brett said. "We really feel like this is the wave of the future."What Brett and his crew plan to offer is nothing short of a sports smorgasbord. Every North Medford, South Medford and Crater football game, home and away, will be available in at least audio form with statistics and most will also feature video. In addition, St. Mary's home games can be seen there. And that's not all.The Table Rock crew is bringing to the Internet table what Brett said could never be offered on the radio: coverage of North Medford and South Medford volleyball and soccer home matches, plus basketball, wrestling, baseball and softball down the road.Up to 190 North Medford and South Medford events could be shown this year, Brett said."We couldn't put other events on the radio because we could just barely get 10 football games and 20 basketball games on without interrupting some other programming," said Brett, who is also the operations and clients relations director at Rogue Valley Community Television. "Now we can engage a much broader audience."Table Rock uses a streaming software called Production Truck by iHigh.com. It allows the display of statistics, cutaways to announcers, zoom-in shots and commercials. A single high-definition camera will be used and, in most cases, two Table Rock employees will work the event.Table Rock is inves迷你倉ing the money it would have used for radio to cover personnel costs and printing expenses, Brett said. The network has shared profits with participating schools since its creation in the early 1990s."We think we can generate more profit for schools at a time when they really need it," Brett said.Brett acknowledged that some fans will not be happy with the change, but he asks only that they give the website a shot."You can plug your smartphone into your car and hear a game live without looking at the screen," Brett said. "It is so much more rewarding for fans in the end to see kids play and not just paint the picture in their minds."All contests will be archived no later than the next morning on tablerocksports.net.Video may not always be available if a Table Rock broadcasting team has trouble gaining a strong Internet connection at away events, but audio and statistics should consistently work, Brett said.Brett will cover South Medford football and Michael Campbell, who previously had Crater, will cover North Medford. Joe Camarlinghi will be the voice of Comet football.Other Table Rock crew members include Bruce Franklin, Travis Million, Dan Hanbey, Darin Jansen and Tony Owens.Demi DeSoto's Game Night football show, which will preview area games, is on at 6 p.m. every Friday.Respective pre-game football coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday when South Medford football hosts West Salem, North Medford travels to McNary and Crater hosts Tualatin. For soccer and volleyball, pre-game coverage will start about 10 minutes before contests. The South Medford boys soccer team can be viewed playing South Eugene at 6 p.m. on Sept. 3; watch North Medford volleyball take on South Medford at 7 p.m. on Sept. 5; and see South Medford girls soccer host Bend at 6 p.m. on Sept. 6.Table Rock received about 20,000 views (live and archive combined) for about 15 football games and 25 basketball games in 2012 with minimal promotion, Brett said. Those were good numbers and he hopes to reach 50,000 this year, he said.At Ashland, local sports personality Bill Jacobs will cover Grizzly football. Live video, audio and statistics can be seen at ashlandfootballclub.com. Tune in about 15 minutes before kickoff.Cascade Christian football can be heard on KDOV, with a pre-game show beginning approximately 20 minutes before kickoff on 91.7-FM.Copyright: ___ (c)2013 the Mail Tribune (Medford, Ore.) MediShield Life public consultation exercise in Q4: Gan
WHILE MediShield Life has received a fair bit of attention since it was mooted in the prime minister's National Day Rally speech, it may take a while before the enhanced insurance scheme is rolled out.迷你倉A public consultation exercise will be held by the Ministry of Health (MOH) in the fourth quarter, in which it will obtain feedback from Singaporeans and key stakeholders, such as private insurers."It will take some time for us to finalise the design of the scheme and the structure," said Health Minister Gan Kim Yong, adding that it may take a year or more before it is finalised.Changes will include lifelong and universal coverage - eradicating the current age limit of 90 - as well as more generous caps to cover a larger proportion of the bill, in addition to reduced co-insurance, to help Singaporeans cope with large hospital bills. But the government is seeking feedback on key issues such as whether to initiate pre-funding of Medisave to help Singaporeans cope with premiums in their old age, and safeguards to ensure premiums don't keep climbing with a higher number of claims. As such, implementation is likely to be only in 2015, although Mr Gan did not rule out the possibility of launching it in stages. He was speaking at a press briefing yesterday where he outlined changes to the healthcare financing framework, including greater access to subsidies as well as liberalisation of Medisave usage. The changes are aimed at defraying out-of-pocket costs - a top healthcare concern of Singaporeans - as healthcare costs continue to rise. From Jan 1, 2014, the qualifying age of 40 years for the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) will be removed while the qualifying income criteria is being raised so that more lower- and middle-income households wi儲存倉l benefit.CHAS grants qualifying Singaporeans subsidies for outpatient treatment of chronic conditions at participating clinics near their homes. In addition, more subsidies will be made available for CHAS cardholders for recommended screening tests such as diabetes and cervical cancer.Meanwhile, from next January, the list of 10 chronic diseases under the Chronic Disease Management Programme for which Singaporeans can tap Medisave will be expanded to add five more, with further liberalisation of Medisave usage possibly on the cards. These five include anxiety, Parkinson's disease and nephrosis. Members will be able to tap the CHAS for subsidised treatment of the five ailments.High-risk groups, such as the elderly and the young, will also be allowed to use their Medisave for pneumococcal and influenza vaccinations. While he welcomed the expanded list, Lam Pin Min, chairman of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Health, felt more chronic diseases should be included. But the annual limit of $400 per Medisave account should stay, "to prevent premature depletion of the Medisave account", he said. For the CHAS, the removal of the age limit and inclusion of additional chronic diseases are expected to cost an additional $13 million per year and the extension of screen subsidies, $10 million annually. Finally, MOH is also looking into enhancing subsidies at specialist outpatient clinics in public hospitals for lower- and middle-income groups, with more details to be announced in the first quarter of 2014.Mr Gan yesterday also reiterated Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's stance that with these adjustments, the Medisave contribution rate may need to go up when the economy permits, but he stressed that there were no immediate plans to raise it.迷你倉價錢

Two arrested in Dayton raid suspected of food stamp fraud
Source: Dayton Daily News, OhioAug.迷你倉出租 29--DAYTON -- DAYTON --The men arrested in a Friday raid to their rented Allen Street home in Dayton are suspected of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, illegally obtaining food stamps and a weapons charge.Muzaffar Mirsoliyev, 28, and his 51-year-old father, Mustafo Mirsoliyev, both Turkish immigrants who were refugees from Uzbekistan in the mid-2000's, had criminal complaints against them unsealed in United States District Court/Southern District of Ohio in Dayton.Mustafo Mirsoliyev appeared at a detention hearing while Muzzafar's hearing was delayed until Friday. Muzaffar's Russian wife, Fanisa Shaydullina, faces a weapons charge and authorities say she has been in the country illegally for about two years. Shaydullina was previously identified as Turkish.Unsealed search warrant affidavits obtained by the Dayton Daily News show that Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Michael Bush suspects the Mirsoliyevs of a scheme to defraud the United States Department of Agriculture and Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. All three were arrested during a raid at 245 Allen Street in which multiple law enforcement agencies seized an AK-47 rifle and a computer.Shaydullina, 26, who is six months pregnant, was put on 24-hour home detention Tuesday and her case will be transferred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Court records show Muzaffar and Shaydullina were married well after Shaydullina's visa expired.Bush's affidavit states the Mirsoliyevs' immigrat迷你倉on records were checked various times in 2011 when they lived in Louisville, Ky. In April 2011, Mustafo Mirsoliyev formed a trucking business in Kentucky that showed bank deposits of $55,000 in 2011 and $92,000 in 2012.In October 2011, the affidavit said Mustafo applied for food stamps through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). He used the food stamps card at Sam's Club and Meijer. Both Mirsoliyevs worked picking up and delivering cargo around the United States and sometimes left Shaydullina at home with the weapon. Illegal aliens are not allowed to possess weapons.Shaydullina's assistant public defender, Art Mullins, argued Tuesday for her to be put on detainer so she would not have to "give birth in prison." Shaydullina has no criminal history, was not accused of a crime of violence and her husband is seeking citizenship, said Mullins.According to U.S. Assistant Attorney Brent Tabacchi, computer forensics are being performed on a computer confiscated in the raid and that could lead to the filing of more charges. The FBI, U.S. Department of Agriculture and Dayton Bomb Squad were among the agencies believed to have been searching Allen Street address on Aug. 23.According to Montgomery County property records, the house is owned by a Sakhadin K. Ilyasov. There are no federal cases involving anyone with that last name.Copyright: ___ (c)2013 the Dayton Daily News (Dayton, Ohio) Visit the Dayton Daily News (Dayton, Ohio) at .daytondailynews.com Distributed by MCT Information Services儲存倉
