Peatross Jr. ordered a $35,000 secured bond for Randall Mason Young, 68, of Gordonsville following a hearing Friday. Young pleaded not guilty to all five counts against him.Young was charged in May on four felony counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor while in a supervisory role, and an additional felony count of use of a communication system to facilitate certain offenses involving children. He was fired by the school system after being indicted by a grand jury.Young's attorney, Lloyd Snook, argued Friday that Young had already spent six weeks in jail, and that the sentencing guidelines for the crimes he had been charged with, if he were found guilty, would run from one day to three months incarceration. self storagee also pointed out that Young had been a lifelong resident who owns real estate in Orange County and did not represent a flight risk.Commonwealth's Attorney Diana Wheeler said the 16-year-old victim was a student on the school bus driven by Young. Because of the attention paid to her, the teen had formed warm feelings toward Young, Wheeler said, and the prosecutor expressed concerned about possible further contact between the two.The judge approved the bond, under the condition that Young have no contact with the student or with any other girl under the age of 18, unless in the presence of a responsible adult.
